Lea has worked in the hairstyling industry for the past seventeen years and been a hairstylist in Jacksonville for the past thirteen.
Lea has an extensive education and travels to classes in New York, Toronto, Las Vegas and more. She is certified with Deva Curl in New York and has taken classes with Ruth Roche of RARE in New York and continuously attends classes at Bumble and Bumble University.
Lea is an expert in curly cuts and loves doing hair color. She has one of the most loyal and extensive group of clients in the Riverside/Avondale area of town. Her following is evident as she was voted Best of Jax by the readers of Folio weekly. Lea’s craft, understanding of clients’ needs and positive attitude are just a few attributes that make her an asset to Hawthorn Salon.
After a fifteen year hairstyling career in Atlanta, John Henson decided to make a move to Florida to work with his buddy and hair mentor, Jim Stracke. John is a talented hairstylist with extensive training with Redken, Goldwell, Arrojo and has even worked alongside Nick Arrojo at his previous salon. His training and continued education is apparent in his work as he is loved by his clients.
John’s technical ability, fun personality and love for hair will make you leave with a smile! His appreciation for his craft even carries over into his hobbies; he was nicknamed Coach Hairspray by the youth soccer team he coached.

Aimee started her styling career in Richmond, Virginia in 2003 where her rock-n-roll style began to blossom. In 2008 she moved to Jacksonville and became Riverside’s go-to girl for getting an updated look. Her extensive experience includes working with Aveda, Bumble & Bumble, Arrojo as well as styling for photo shoots and runway shows. She specializes in short, razored cuts, textured bobs, ombre, balayage and bright blondes… a perfect match for her energetic personality.
Lanae is the whole package! She is a senior stylist with a great eye and the experience to make you look your best. She is a creative colorist that loves doing balayage and is also known for her razor cuts.
Lanae was a guest stylist at Hawthorn and now has made Jacksonville her home. She has over a decade of continuing education with Arrojo, Aveda, Goldwell, etc and even led the education program at one of Atlanta’s Top Ten salons. You will love her!
Meet Christina Bing! She is one of the most passionate hairstylists we have met. She absolutely loves to cut and color hair. Being a blonde herself, she is a highlighting superstar!
Christina started her career twelve years ago in Ohio and and has continued to increase her passion through the addition of specialized training and education. From being a color educator for Matrix to taking up-styling classes with the avant garde hair designer, Nicholas French, Christina has a pretty broad resume. We couldn’t ask for a better member of the Hawthorn team!
Corinne is a creative and laid-back gal who was born to do hair! She does a killer short cut …men’s and women’s … and has a solid eye for color. She is great with natural highlights, pastels and vivids and has continued her education with various classes with Bumble, Redken and Loreal.
It is no surprise Corinne started a career in hair since she has always had a passion for art. When she is not doing hair, she enjoys drawing and photography and has been known to attend a comic book convention or two!
Gayla is our go-to girl for editorial hair! Her clients and coworkers are in awe of her magical styling skills! She also loves doing bombshell blondes and short technical cuts.
A Paul Mitchell graduate, Gayla is constantly challenging herself to grow as a stylist and a person. She has taken part in many fundraising activities, fashion shows and volunteer events. Her courteous and creative energy is a delight to be around!
Kimberlee is as sweet as she looks! Come see her if you want to be white blonde or if your long hair needs to be revamped. After graduating from Aveda, Kimberlee joined the Hawthorn team and the rest is history!
While Kimberlee is not doing hair, she enjoys sewing, watching anime and hanging out with her cats and Doxie named Chi.
Kaylee is known for her classic styles and caring service. Her clientele can always count on her to answer any of their hair questions, maintain their hair needs and keep them looking current! She loves balayage, dimensional color and wearable cuts.
Kaylee’s commitment to pleasing her clients is evident and her cut and color services are versatile and consistent. Not to mention, her sweet personality makes her a delight to be around! It is no wonder that she has quickly become one of Hawthorn’s most popular stylists!
Need a new look? Tina’s love for hair makes her the perfect stylist for you! She specializes in bleach and tones and is our go-to-gal for vivid colors. Her fun personality will definitely put a pep in your step!
Tina is dedicated to the craft of hairdressing and spends free time researching the latest and greatest techniques and trends. She continues her education attending classes with Bumble and Bumble and Redken Exchange in NYC.
Chelsea embraces her southern heritage and brings that grace and charm to the salon. Whether she is researching the past for inspiration or looking ahead for what is next, Chelsea stays on top of the trends. She is known for her sun-kissed blondes, long layers and men’s cuts. She also just went through Redken’s extensive color certification program!
Chelsea’s approach to doing hair combines skill, creativity and attentiveness. With a thirst for cultivating her craft, she has excelled through our extensive training program and has become one of the most well-known members of the Hawthorn Salon team.
Martha started her career twelve years ago in Atlanta. She has extensive training with Bumble and Bumble, Loreal, Toni and Guy and Paul Mitchell.
She loves doing razor cuts and enhancing the natural beauty of hair with highlighting and color blocking.
Her sense of fashion has helped her excel in styling for runway and in editorial styling. If you want a long-term relationship with your stylist, Martha is your girl…even her clients from Atlanta line up when she goes back for visits. (Prepare to line up here too. She is quite the sought after stylist.)
Macy’s fun style and friendly face are sure to brighten up your day! Her goal is to make her clients look and feel great! She does lovely highlights and balayage and awesome long layered cuts!
After graduating from Aveda, she furthered her education through Hawthorn’s apprentice program and continues taking classes with Bumble and Bumble, Redken and more. Her motivation to make her clients happy does not go unnoticed!
Dana is our salon manager and is one of the sweetest gals around!! (Seriously) Her smile is truly contagious. Dana gives exceptional service & support to Hawthorn clients and employees. The salon is lucky to have her.

Yes. His name is Featherhawk. One of our favorite dudes! Being a salon coordinator comes naturally to him as his attention to detail is spot on. He is here to get your appointment booked and give you a good chat!!

If you call the salon, you will most likely hear her southern accent on the other end. She is a small town gal with big city experience.
With a degree in fashion design & marketing and many years of experience as a buyer, it is no wonder that Hawthorn Salon has a great selection of prestige beauty products on the shelves.
Jim has nineteen years of experience as a hairstylist and has trained under leading names at Bumble and Bumble, Aveda, Redken and more.
He is known for his highlights (including ombre and balayage) and does amazing precision cuts. He has a loyal following with all hair textures, from extra fine to super curly. Jim’s frequent travels to New York and London keep him on top of the current trends.
Jim and his wife moved from Washington D.C. in 2008 and fell in love with the Riverside/Avondale neighborhood. After working in the area for a couple of years, Jim saw the need for a new type of Jacksonville salon…soon after, Hawthorn Salon was born!
